Overdrive gear slipps

While driving my 1991 Camaro RS, I was in overdrive and all of a sudden was revving up. I slowed down and dropped in into drive and when I shifted up again it wouldn't engage. What do I do to fix that?

Does it have the 700R4 transmission? There is s good thread at: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/transmissions-drivetrain/301543-700r4-overdrive-problem.html to check out if you so desire they discuss just what you describe and offer some solutions
