I smell gas on my dipstick and when i press gas line gas shoots up can a fuel regulator cause it not to fire
Yea might be telling it to not send fuel or not enough fuel get a tire pressure gauge check the pressure after cranking.it check book for the lb pressure
Release pressure then try should go right back up if not itd be regulator
Or even clogged injector but usually.theyll run rough at first then just stop and wanna try to start. Or fuel filter not bad idea to change anyways. Could be quite a bit of things most def start with your basics when in doubt think simple you need oxygen fuel and spark to make a motor run. Make sure your getti all three then go from there check pressures sensors if your good with a multimeter and relays fuses. Check your vacuum lines ends fittings. Could be a endless.money pit if you just buy parts. Obd testers might give you a hint or two also
Is there any thing else I can check that i may be missing if that turns out to be okay
After all of that check your wiring but before that id have your computer rebooted if you got a new one bring it somewhere see if its good and running correctly. Fuel pump aint a bad idea to check. Plug wires make sure those are good and firing order make sure thats correct. You said you replaces rotor cap just double check yourself everyone can make a mistake. Plugs look okay? Clean fuel if its been sitting.
