i need directions and a diagram on how to change a starter

my car was left unpluged over night and it wouldnt start the next day. It has been three days now. we tryed plugging it in, charginf the battery and today we had tried bosting it but this time we had tried to start it a bunch of smoke came from under neath it. i had gotten told by a family member that it was the starter. Is this true and if so can i get a diagram and dirctions to change the starter

hey Becky-- It might be the starter, but I don't like hearing about the smoke coming out from underneath. I don't know what you are talking about when you say you left it umplugged. You from Alaska or something? I think you need a professional to look at your car, not some relative with good intentions. Replacing the starter is an expensive job only to find out that it wasn't the problem after all.
