Stalling related to fuel

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 91 Chevy Cavalier that starts however while on the
road sometime out of no where I hit the gas and it stalls.
Even if I push the gas it doesnt want to speed up and then
shuts off.  I've had to push it off the road several times.
We've replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump strainer and
injector, fuel filter, alternator, battery, spark plug, spark plug
cables, map sensor and ignition coil.  I've just about given
up.  Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Any applicable trouble codes? Your obd1, you should be able to check some codes, yourself, if the check engine lite still works. You connect a jumper wire between the terminals A and B at the datalink connector, then turn key just till the dash lites come on, then the mil on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes. Because you mentioned fuel, the fuel pressure for 3.1L engine says 40--47 psi, so if about in the middle should be ok. If intermittent issues, have to test when problem is ongoing, I know it's a pain. If dis ignition, there is the ignition module and crank sensor. Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction. I hate to see you replace something and it doesn't fix it? I know, intermittent problems can be a pain to track down. We need something to point us in the right direction? I can only help with testing.
