01 GMC Sierra starts and dies immediately after starting

Asked by Jg40007 Jul 12, 2019 at 03:35 PM about the 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It started up fine and I drove it home from work,
and it idled while I was in the gas station. I go to
leave home from lunch and it turned over perfectly
Everytime, but as soon as it starts, within two
seconds it dies. All connections seem fine, it's not
leaking fluid anywhere, but it just stopped working
within the span of a half hour! Hoping maybe fuel
filter but any advice helps because I'm scratching
my head!!

What about your security system? Any applicable trouble codes? Is there a security lamp on the dash?

Check engine lights always on, but other than that nothing irregular came up on the dash
