Opps, I deleted that. I was just on a Corolla question, blew that big time, sorry nimrod . But while researching this on a couple different sites, I see that it is a very bad idea to run out of gas or even run it very low on your Jag. If you run out it is quite likely that you will ruin you fuel pump, as it is cooled by the gas and will continue to run attempting to pick up gas.

Not only that, but running out of gas will suck all the debris into the pump and system as well possibly causing further problems. Godd thing it's a Corolla, they get great gas mileage.. plus they are pretty easy to push if you run out and are near a gas station...

I never let my tank get below 1/2. For one, I have a situation at home where I may need to get somewhere pronto and not have time to stop for gas, plus I want to avoid condensation. I usually top off before 1/2

Condensation is a real problem where I live..ambient temperatures are notorious for changing 40 degrees in one day from 4am to 4pm. In the morning the car (I have so much shit in my garage I have to park outside) is covered in snow, the sun comes out and goes from 15 to 55 or 60 degrees and that really does play havoc with water forming in there
