Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've got a 2001 93 convertible with just under 100k on it, recently it started
running really rough and will intermittently shut off while driving on the
highway and if I drop it into neutral it immediately restarts but will
occassionally continue to shut off at no specific interval..any ideas??

yes it's turbo but the turbo seems fine, it runs fine on acceleration just really rough when idle and like I said this is all of a sudden..I'm kind of getting a feeling that it's some electrical issue??any thoughts?

I had a 'sputter'' issue and then a stall with my saab 93 aero. it was when i was around 1/4 tank of gas, i upgraded to high grade 89 gas from 76 station and never go much below 1/2 tank and no more sputter. increase the gas grade may help. a correct air/fuel ratio is important also. Idle speed is set correctly? and maybe change out the spark plugs. if any of these are lacking the engine may stall. i find turbo needs good gas. oh the other thing is turbo eats oil so make sure your oil is always filled and more often change oil.

direct injection cassette - DIC might be failing.

The car idles fine. Changed the cassette less than a year ago. I have always used premium gas since I've had it. Per your suggestion, maybe it's time for a tune up. Oil level is checked at least twice a week. Thanks for your help.
