I had the same problem for a 2007 9-3. We did some research and as best we could tell the amplifier was shot. I contacted a large junk yard in Detroit and found they had a 2007 9-3. For $21 I pulled the amp out (Part number 12773377) and replaced it in my car and that solved the problem.

My amp was in the trunk. We read the manual and there appeared to be more than one amp. Not sure what the 2005 has. We had no idea if a new trunk amp would do the trick or if the amp I pulled would even work but figured for $20 why not try it. The junkyard (parts- galore) was 40 minutes away and it took 2 minutes to extract the amp by undoing two nuts. I know immediately that the new amp did work as soon as I turned on the radio. Good luck

I saw an article on line that said the radio in the 2006 (9.3 arc) has radio and turn signal sounds run by fiber optic. It can have a connection issue near the amp
