1997 2.2 Impreza wagon manual sunroof is way too bright!

The sunroof allows way too much sunlight to heat up the car. It doesn't seem to have any
feature for blocking out the sun. Is there a shade that I could use with it or is there any
other solution?

I've thought about applying window tint reflective film to the inside of the glass.

You could always have it tinted.
