1990 chevy suburban won't start.

Asked by wyattgc Jan 16, 2016 at 03:59 PM about the 1990 Chevrolet Suburban V1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1990 burb, v1500 350 tbi 80k miles. It sat for the better part of a decade.
Changed the tank, pump, sending unit. map sensor tps sensor,
plugs/wires, and the iac valve. It was running fine (did blow the gauge
cluster fuse a while back) Went to the store and parked, came out and no
dome lights, gauge lights, headlights, radio nothing. It cranks, gets spark
but wont fire. Turn signals work, check engine light doesnt come on. I'm at
a loss. I don't get fuel pressure/the pump doesn't turn on. The battery is
BRAND new (switched it out with another known good one to make sure.)
Also the reel light works under the hood. All fuses under the steering
column are good.
I'm at a loss here.
What should I check first? thanks

this may sound crazy but check are replace all leads to starter, are maybe even starter its self. I had problems like your talking about and was even told the starter wouldn't cause those problems , well-- it did, I replaced the cables running to starter and even put a rebuilt starter on and it fixed all problems that I had.it may not be your problem but it was mine, and two shops and over 300 dollars and I had to fix it myself for they said it wouldn't cause my problems. good luck to ya.
