I have a '05 MDX and commute a around 15-20 miles a weekday at approx 14.5 - 15 MPG. It has been my experience with the Acura as well as my '07 Mazda MX-5 (18.5 - 20 MPG - during short commute to work) that both never fully attain proper operating temp throughout the drive-train which leads to inefficient MPG. On longer drives, both return much better MPG. Try synthetic oil designed for higher MPG and a more efficient air filter and research the proper tire PSI (Tire Rack) adjustment to increase your MPG. On average I increased the PSI around 4 PSI (= 36 psi for the Acura) (33 psi front / 36 psi rear for Mazda) for both of my personal cars. You can play with the average mileage display on the Acura to find the best driving procedure for your commute but if you, like me, have to deal with the typical Baltimore/Washington daily commute mess - good luck - because the path to and from work is forever changing!
Thanks for the heads up kilroy... Have a great Thanksgiving!!!
