I have a 2003 jagaur xtype 3.0 that shows a gear box default on the display screen would this keep the car from starting?

I think the car was towed incorrectly. It wont even turn over like the computer is keeping it from starting. Would the gear box default displayed keep it from starting and how do I fix it/ The shifter doesn't lock in place even though the ignition is in the lock position
