If the car starts to sputter like it's going to stall and die at 3500 rpm's going about 65 mph's and the engine light come on and go's off, what the problem? Is it the transmission?

kinda doubt it, but thats why we have obd2. just check the codes and start from there

sounds like you have a vac line undone. can you leave it in N and reve it? what does it do?
