My Landrover Discovery 2 battery has died and its going to cost me nearly $600 for the proper replacement. Anyone had any trouble with using an N70ZZ instead of the original battery with nearly 1000CCA?

I'd say you should do a search in your area for battery vendors and get a quote from them - the most expensive one I can find for a TD5 (they need more cranking amps than the V8) in Australia is $235 without any discounts or anything, so you should be able to find something below that price. Definitely don't pay $600 ! :-)
If I remember correctly it's a Delco Freedom 72Ah battery, nothing special about it, any car battery with the same form factor and power rating will work. Unless you are driving under arctic circumstances there is no need to have 1,000CCA, even 600 will do you fine.
Dear sir,I have 2 Discovery 2 I have a yellow optimum battery in one and a Interstate Battery in the other get on eBay and you can get them way cheaper than 600.00 the optimum battery is assume it has 900 cold cranking amps and you can them from auto zone for 200 bucks or eBay for less
