2002 Land Rover freelander

Asked by Angelo Feb 18, 2020 at 09:23 PM about the 2002 Land Rover Freelander 4 Dr S AWD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I traded someone a bunch of tools for his
2002 Land Rover freelander S he told me it
had a problem with the transmission so I
brought it home towed it home I should say
and took it for a spin around the block.it
started up fine no check engine went into
gear fine seemed like it had no problem s
but while I was driving under 20 mph prob
around 10 mph it suddenly felt like I threw it
in park but did it intermittently then it would
go again for about 30 seconds. And it would
do it again.so I done a little research and
found there are 9 solenoid valves that
control the flow of fluids to for the
transmission so I opened up the front of the
transmission. Where the valves are and all of
them were in range of the resistance chart I
received except 1 it was 2.4 ohms when it
was supposed to be 2.6 ohms  will that
make a difference in how it controls the
vehicle I believe it was the 2-4 brake
solenoid valve.thank you
