Is the reservoir boiling or bubbling? A blown head gasket will introduce air into the cooling system and bubbles will rise in the coolant bottle. Air in the coolant can also cause overheating. Pull your dip stick and check it for water. If the dip stick looks like oil, set it on fire with a lighter. Any water in the mix will make the oil pop as it burns.

Trying replacing the radiator cap. If it's leaking, the water will boil at a lower temperature and boil out but the engine would not be overheating
