Should I Buy this for $4500

Asked by Earl Mar 25, 2015 at 05:44 PM about the 2004 Acura TL FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

It's an Acura TL 2004.It has 200K Miles but
mostly highway miles from New Jersey to
Connecticut once a week. it was selling for
$5000 then I talked him to $4500. The
interior and Exterior looks amazing just one
little dent that can't even been noticed.
hasn't been in accidents. Should I buy?

I had a high mile acura it ran like new with 150 on the speedo but it was a manual. On that car I would say the worst problem would be the automatic transmission make sure you have someone that knows those cars look at the transmission. 2nd problem would be needing the timing belt changed if it's a v6

I agree with Tom... you should have your mechanic look at it and if the seller has an issue with that, its a good sign you should walk... he may want to go with you and that is fine, but he shouldn't look to have you go to 'his guy' or anything like that... After that, if you like the car, I would probably shoot for more like 3k... at 200k miles, regardless of highway (and everyone says that) or how well it was maintained, things just wear out so you will start to see a lot of replacement work going on and coming out of your pocket... Good luck!
