Dear Frustrated- I do not know how to reset the light- I don't even know if you should- that's why modern cars are meant to go to the dealer- the light came on, you changed your oil (admirable), thinking that's what made the light come on- what if something else needs servicing? Your Land Rover is an amazingly complex and ill-considered piece of machinery- if you want to work on your own cars, (and that is a manly thing to do), you would be better off getting a twentieth century machine-

The service engine soon light means there is a problem Go to a mechanic. You can get a code reader (as little as $10 on EBay) and read the codes to get an idea of what the problem is. You should not reset the error codes to get rid of them as it deletes the information that will help a mechanic fix the problem. Lots of reasons for service codes - some simple as a bad gas cap - others will be expensive.

A code reader can reset the check engine light. Even if you delete the codes they will come back if the problem still exists.
