Z06 Wheels all 18's, No Stagger
Asked by kevinmac1955 Jan 20, 2016 at 01:19 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Hatchback RWD
Question type: General
I have a 1999 Corvette Coupe, believe it came with 17's on front, and 18's on the rear. I have acquired 4 Z06 wheels in pretty good shape, and would look great on the car. Thing is, they're all 18's, is it a problem running all 18's on a C-5, or should I run a little smaller tire in the front, or all 4 the same ok. Clearance is good, wondering about the ride, the look, etc. Any thoughts on this would be great, Thanks, Kmac.

What year ZO6? The 2011 ZO6 had wheels that are 19-12 rears and 18-9.5 fronts which are way wider than the stock wheels your car came with - 18-9.5 rears and 17-8.5 fronts. You may have serious tire clearance issues so check it out before buying.

I discovered a couple small cracks at the bead area, and actually a lot of curb rash on both, and decided a bad idea all the way. Picked up some stock wheels, 17 & 18's, for now that will work fine. Need to spend my money on more important stuff, and lots of "stuff" I got, Ha!! Thanks anyway F.O.R.
Anything for a Corvette is expensive. Rims especially and tires included. Go to a very reliable tire dealer and ask them what is the largest and widest rim that will go on the Corvette you have. If they are honest and good, they will pull out the paper that lets them know what can be used. going up one inch on a rim may work, but the tire size may need to be adjusted.
