Lower than average. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Saab_9-3/2007/Reliability/
They are well built, but, the network of people who know how to repair them is more limited.... They can be expensive to repair, and finicky... However, go see one and close the door and you'll see what I mean. Very solid and tight construction ... I rented one of them years ago and was very impressed by the fit and finish.
Price, condition and mileage is critical here, see this below, http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2007/Saab/9-3-4-Cyl/Wagon-5D- SportCombi-Turbo/Values
You know, when it comes to car problems, it's all relative, I have to say that it looks pretty good compared to most other cars, http://www.carcomplaints.com/Saab/9-3/2007/
This report below from US News is pretty good. YES, reliability is on par with a Subaru Outback..... Not bad.. Again, compared to a Dodge/Chrysler product, it's great!! Depends on what you want. The price on these cars is pretty low for the appointments you get. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Saab_9-3/2007
they are like any other car...some great . some ok , some junk....try one....you might just like it !
I'm the original owner of a 2004 Saab 9-3, and it's the best car I've ever owned. Solid, comfortable car to drive, generally getting 30mpg, and after 167,000 miles, not a penny spent beyond normal maintenance. 5 speed manual transmission still with original clutch.
