When the belt broke it may have broken wire(s), connector(s) and or sensor(s). Have you checked for spark and fuel yet?

I have an 01 elantra. It has multiple belts on it. My inner most belt was for my air conditioner pump only. It was making a few squeaks here and there but it ended up snapping. That was fine, it happens. But what I didn’t expect was a piece of it had wrapped around the inner area of my crankshaft and burned a hole into my timing belt cover. Then proceeded to wrap itself up over the lower timing belt sprocket. Timing slipped and engine stopped so hard it felt like I hit a deer. Then I heard a bunch of metal crunching. I destroyed every single one of my exhaust valves. After it happened before I tore it down I thought I might get lucky so I reset the timing belt and rolled it over and absolutely zero compression. I am now in the process of a complete engine overhaul.
