Is it rare?

Question type: General
In Dec 1998, I ordered a 1999 Corvette Coupe. The only options were the
magnetic red metallic paint, tan interior, floor mats and both the painted top and
the glass top. I would like to know how many 1999's were built with these
options.

After contacting Chevrolet Customer Assistance Team, their only response was that there were 1569 Coupes painted Magnetic Red Metallic in 1999, which I already knew. I asked them for other suggestions. I then contacted a lady named Betty Hardison, who is the Library & Archives Coordinator at the Corvette Museum. She sent two documents to me. One was the 1999 production numbers and an article about “Extrapolation.” She suggested I use these documents to Extrapolate the number. About 10 minutes later she sent a second email in which she said there were 437 Coupes in 1999 built with Magnetic Red Metallic paint, Light Oak interior and automatic transmission, but could not narrow it down any further. So, just for the heck of it, based on a quantity of 437, I used the extrapolation method suggested. 35% of the Coupes were shipped with the Dual Top option. 35% of 437 would be 153. 98% of the Coupes were shipped with carpeted floor mats. 98% of 153 would be 150. So, based on the extrapolation method, 150 Coupes shipped in 1999 were the same as the one I ordered. I’m not buying that. I truly believe that because Dealers order their cars with lots of options and I placed an order with minimal options, there would be very few, if any, the same as mine. Lastly, the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Team sent a second reply to me suggesting I contact the General Motors Media Archive. General Motors Media Archive sent an email saying that their records will not allow them to answer my question. They also said that they don’t think that information exists.
