Did the tow truck destroy my transmission?

Asked by Jordank47 Jan 30, 2016 at 09:42 AM about the 2001 Acura CL 3.2 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I actually have 2000 1.6 Acura el automatic. My car
was towed away in park with the parking break up
also. The tow truck driver didn't use any skates or
anything. When I retrieved it the same day on my
lunch break, I didn't bother to warm it upIt was -7
degrees. When I drove it home it was fine. When I
was going out later that night and I started the car,
the check engine light was on. So I checked and I
saw a leak but that could have been there before so
I'm not sure if that was the cause. As I'm driving the
RPM meter would rev really and act strange. I made
a pit stop and after that when I would push the gas
pedal the car wouldn't move in any gear. The only
way to move it was to rev it to 500 Rpm and keep
pumping the gas and even to it wouldn't go past
40km/h I spoke to my friend and he said they
probably f'ed up my differential. If they did can I get
my insurance ( I only have one way insurance ) to
cover it? Can I sue the tow truck company? Is this
something I can fix on my own? If not will it cost a
lot to fix ?

tennisshoes, wouldn't that be a front wheel drive, and wouldn't they have towed it from the front? And also no differential in the rear? Parking breaks where on, tires would skid or wear on the brakes.
