2007 Grand Marquis LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay guys, so I've replaced the Altenator
and the Starter and have the battery fully
charged. Before the alternator went out,
the car ran fine; once it went out, the
starter went out too. Or at least I assumed
because i replaced the alternator and
nothing happened. Now that their both
replaced, and the battery is fully charged;
ill turn the key, all lights come on the dash,
I hear a clunk, and then nothing. Anything
guys?

The new starter may be bad. It would be highly unlikely that the alternator and the starter went out at nearly the same time.

Well the alternator went out and before that the starter was having problems. I replaced the alternator first and just replaced the starter

Do the lights dim when you hear that clunk? If so, a bad ground or battery terminal. Replace the starter relay. Check for ground connections, battery cables and engine.
