abs

Asked by A Jan 16, 2020 at 04:03 PM about the 2007 Mercury Mountaineer AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 mercury mountaineer awd and the abs  and traction light illuminated and stayed on once I started it up and never went off. I did not notice any difference while driving. How do I check the codes to see what may be the issue. It seems to me it would be a sensor. But I am not a mechanic.

You are probably right when you said it was probably a sensor. The ABS and Traction Control systems run off the same wheel sensor signal since they both look for wheel rotation. To get the codes read, just go to a local parts store and ask them to tell you what codes are showing. They usually do this as a free service.
