Toyota Yaris ac clutch

Asked by Rureall Oct 09, 2017 at 12:03 PM about the 2007 Toyota Yaris S Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I found my ac clutch off and sitting on the bottom of car.
2007 Toyota Yaris. It's threaded and screwed right back
on the ac compressor next to pulley. I hand tighTened it
back on. What will keep this on the there? Not sure if
supposed to have a bolt or if will come off again? Does it
spin when running or stay stationary? Any suggestions?
My ac has been working and all only noticed that clutch
sitting there when checking fluid levels

I guess just screwing it on will not work. I've looked all on internet and no real help showing how to get it back on. Some show needing spacers, snap ring, bolt. I'm just going to leave the ac clutch piece off for now. Afraid just screwin it on May do harm. Anyone know this on a Yaris or where to find diagrams or instructions?

Look up or see if you can identify the model of your compressor. It is probably a Denso brand. There is a company called century auto air and they have parts for compressors.

If they tell you that it is just this bolt, I would use some red or blue loc-tite to keep it on

Ok thank you. I will check it out. Funny thing is with the piece off the ac still runs and blows ice cold. Also from looks of it seems to have been off some time and i never noticed it. I Will have to look up model to see what that piece that came off and any diagram. I thought if the clutch and off it wouldn't run ac or cold
