1980 Buick Regal Somerset limited check engine light

I have a 1980 Buick Regal limited Somerset v6 runs very good but every once in
a while after driving it hear and there I'll turn engine off and it won't start until it
cools down can anyone help

SOUNDS LIKE THE OLD "OVERHEATED STARTER SOLENOID" PROBLEM. MAYBE A SHIELD WAS REMOVED WHEN SOME WORK WAS BEING DONE ON THE EXHAUST OR STARTER. IF NOT IT COULD JUST BE AN OLD SOLENOID.

Thank u very much I never even thought about that . When it doesn't start the starter does sound different and only happens when hot !! I'm gonna check that today , thank u again ....
