I got a wrong key stuck in the ignition..how do I get it to release?

Asked by d_chan Oct 05, 2010 at 11:47 AM about the 1999 Acura RL 3.5 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I think it's actually a Toyota key that's stuck
in the ignition. The key unlocked the doors
on the car and even turned in the ignition
but didn't crank the car I guess for lack of
the chip that's supposed to be in the acura
key. Is there a way to get the key out
without replacing the ignition?

Sorry, but nope. You possibly could get your local locksmith to pull the switch out, and get the key to release. Most of them will come to your home.
