I'm having the same problem. It started last week while I was driving. The air was on high and on the coldest temp. Next thing the air started getting warmer. I shut it off for a few seconds and turned it back on it was normal. Then 2 days ago, I was sitting in the driveway with my car engine started to run hot. My guage is always a notch below midway and when it started to go above that I freaked out. I have never had any problems with my car and I do pay attention to everything that might be different. I know when your car starts to overheat to shut it down but I needed to go home (3 blocks away). SO I left and while driving the guage dropped back to normal??? I went home checked the oil, the antifreeze levels and both were fine. Next day my ac only blows warm/hot air. Went to Advance Auto and bought a can of coolant with a guage on it. Had a buddy check it for my. I have full pressure, and my fans are running. He could not add any coolant because he did not want to blow my lines.

Two weeks ago one of my A/C fans started stalling out. I brought it to my mechanic and he told me I would need to change both fans soon. Well today neither fans are working and no air is blowing out either l. Something tells me the compressor gave out today. Omg. I don't want to trade my car in. Helppppp.
I don't know any answer trying to find out why my car engine starts to rumble when I use the ac,got a 2007 accord V6
Answering the original question, how to fix cold air or hot air coming out of vents, even when the setting is the opposite. I had the problem on my '07 Accord, dual temp controls in the EX-L. The problem is with the "air doors" that control the hot/cold air mix flowing into the cabin. It started with an intermittant grinding or clicking noise in the center console behind the climate control panel, which persisted for a couple years, slowly getting worse at changing the temperature. The motors that control the mix wear out and need to be replaced. Google these parts: driver's side is: 79160-SDA-A41 passenger side is: 79170-SDA-A41 It was easy to find a fix video on YouTube, only took 30 minutes. Basically have to remove the trim, need a short philips screwdriver and a basic ratchet set.
Thank you. That is exactly what has been happening to my A/C. I had a clicking sound from the console. Sometimes when cold air is coming out of the drivers side, warm air comes out of the passenger side.
thank you mazurn2 I think that's the answer I need also!
Just had the same problem. Thank you for the posts. My mechanic in San Diego is fixing it for $265 today.
