Radio resetting at any given time

Asked by CH2007TC Sep 20, 2019 at 08:57 PM about the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country Limited LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As I'm driving periodically my radio screen will
shut down and seemingly "reboots" (goes dark
Chrysler emblem appears then returns to radio
station.....or Clock , yes happens when radio off as
well) the the I cant seem to get the Chrysler
mechanics to understand is that it also shuts
down the fan motors (front and rear) whether A/C
or Heat on. It all comes back on and runs fine.
Well understand that this vehicle was purchased
in '09 (program car from a Chrysler Exec.) Along
with a good deal we SWEETEN IT with a Very Very
good Warranty ( lifetime basically 2099 and
Unlimited miles that started at 1 million then to 2
million crossed out and wrote Unlimited) like I
said a very very good Warranty!!! Our deductible is
$ 100.00 and really covers basically everything
except your standards tires, batteries, fluids, tips
years in interior,  or dents and dings.
So we've religiously taken to where we purchased
it and have been taken care of exceptionally on
everything but this Radio/navigation air flow
motor going off problem.
It started about 8 months after purchasing it and
I've asked it to be looked at everytime it goes in for
a repair.
The funny thing is it also seems to be
affecting/controlling the "Control Lights" they go
out as well (NEVER THE DASH LIGHTS" so over the
years they replaced those tiny bulbs and they work
for a while then puff they don't  ( gets a little
tougher at note to set fan speed and position as
well as not seeing your light switch to operate) I'm
use to the vehicle and  where everything is,  but
the Wifer gets frustrated naturally.
Hoping someone out there has experience a
similar or same situation and might be able to
SHED some LIGHT on it ......all punks intended

Just so you understand I don't really want to get
rid of this vehicle for the obvious reasons and
really not since 30,000 miles ago Chrysler signed
off on a NEW motor @ 324,000 plus
miles....$100.00 .....a very very good Warranty  !!!

Check associated fuses, particularly one marked radio. The fuse is probably good, but maybe loose. Somewhere there is a connection that is intermittent.

Thank you I will try that. But do understand that if the blower motor is operating (A/C or heat it too shuts off and comes back on, as well as the back lights to all controls (never dash lights thank goodness !) . And no hitting a bump doesn't make it happen, just happens randomly even with out radio on. But I will check fuse/box to ensure that no wires are loose, corroded, etc. Thank you again for taking the time.

I have the same van and the same Problem. So frustrating. I have noticed it does it most often when the weather gets cold and the heat starts getting used.
