98 Acura

Asked by travhaiz Jun 02, 2017 at 09:36 AM about the 1998 Acura TL 2.5 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I received this text from my daughter who lives out of state this morning:

My car won't shift out of park. But it does start. So I have this shifter
override thing and I put it into neutral to start my car and then was able to
drive it. But while driving it I had to literally keep the pedal to the floor as it
had no power.

Does anyone have any advice?

Your car is in a "limp mode" more than likely. Is any warning lights on? Even if there isn't the transmission might be failing or needs to be filled. Hope it's a quick fix!
