I know I am seven years late but your timing is off as I am sure you eventually found out when you needed a new motor. This is a common but very costly rookie mistake that I happened to have made myself on an 03 Accord v6. If you are even a tooth off the engine will run horribly due to it being an interference engine. You are damaging it every time you drive it. The crankshaft sensor code is on because the computer is sensing that the crankshaft is in the improper position so the car thinks its the sensor but really it is the crankshaft itself being slightly off. Guys, if you aren’t sure bring it into a shop. You will SAVE money in the end. I happen to have a 1997 Acura CL myself and love the car. It is a shame that yours died. RIP
