I have a 19641/2 mustang. It needs work. How much should I sell it for?

how do you know it is a "641/2"? what is the vin #? that car looks to be about $1500 at the most.

Considering in 1964 this car was almost $2,500 brand new and over the years they have been getting rarer and rarer every year and if you consider that in the price of great american car that i think i might pay $2000 or less considering how much body work i have to do, or somewhat fix the 289 cubic engine and the 4 speed to the ground

whats the VIN? if you dont know where to look, open the hood, and it will be stamped on the driver side fender on the top?

I would keep the 64 and restore it. But if you sell it, make sure it is going to a good home for someone to restore. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT TO A JUNK OR SALVAGE YARD!!!!!! There are still a lot of great original parts on the car. I own a 64 myself, and I know they are rare to find.

....and yes there are plenty of places to find original and repo parts for not that much. 64/65s are basically the same except for some details and also are the cheapest year(s) of mustang to restore.

If its a rust free example-$1000-1500. If its rusty, $500. The engine is probably shot, ie: frozen solid and the chrome trim is usually the most expensive part of a resto.

This has been my dream car since I was 16.I would restore to a regional condition and treat her with kid gloves. but I would only be able to give $500.00.

I have one that has descent body. windows are still in tact....302 engine 4barrel carb and headers, auto. Disc Brakes off of a 79 Granada.....prrr like a great kitten....I had lost it in a divorce....but somehow the Ex never took care of the sign pink slip....Just found it is still in my name......I may ask my atty if I can get it back....

I'm sorry to say but it is not a 64 1/2, it is just a simple 65. The 64 1/2 had a 260 V8 engine in them, while the 65's did have the 289 V8's in them. The 641/2 was the only Mustang to ever have the 260 V8.

In 641/2 these cars came with 221 hp 289 4v in the "D" code, and 271 hp 289 in the "K" code vin.

Geneo59 is right, F-260, D-289, K-289, The 260 and the inline 6 170 was droped for 65 AND awsed they didn't come out with a fastback until 65..Here's my sweet 64 1/2 260 with 285hp......hope this helps

If you have the title, that is worth 500. Most the parts to resore cost less than 150 per each part Less than 10 % of 64 mustangs.were 289 engines. Look at the vin on drivers door. Probably 1000 to 1500 I own two and restoring one.p

I have a question not a answer but I know that your not selling but my favorite vehicle bored is ford and I want my first car to be a mustang and I don’t have the money to buy a clean old mustang so I’m going to rebuild my one and I love old fords the best that’s why I want my first car to be like a 1964-69 so anyways lm wonder how much just the car would cost befor rebuilding it think you

It's most definitely a project car, I'd pick it up but it wouldn't be for much. Maybe 3-400?
