I am replacing the clutch starter safety switch on my 2007 Vibe. The replacement switch is very different from the one I removed.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The new switch is about half the length of the old one. I don't think the wiring
harness will fit its connector. There doesn't seem to be any way to screw its
bolt into position so that the clutch can depress the plunger. It is the only
clutch switch any parts person- even the Pontiac dealer can find. What am I
missing here? The switch I took out looks almost exactly like the brake light
switch (no, it is still in place on the brake pedal).

The bottom switch is for the cruise control disconnect. The top one is mounted on the firewall and is the clutch starter safety switch.
