Spare Tire
Asked by rsjohn83 Aug 08, 2009 at 07:55 PM about the 2008 Audi TT 2.0T Roadster FWD
Question type: General
I just purchased a TT and it does not come with a spare tire or even a donut tire. I asked the salesman about it and he
didn't even know. We went and opened the trunk, look like it was fitted for a donut but it wasn't there. He even checked
the other TT Roadsters and they didn't have a donut either. I did see the tools to change a tire but no spare. Is there a
road side assistance with the car?

its equipped with a self supporting runflat wheel... vehicles that have runflats, like mine, do not have spares, rather they have nothing but a jack and tools to remove the wheel... vehicles that are not supplied with runflats either have a spare, or a compressor kit that contains a "goo" to stop the leak until you can reach the nearest tire repair facility
TTs don't come with a donut. They use a run-flat solution which is garbage. I popped a tire and their goo solution was useless - had to call triple A. I am looking for a donut also but have not found any donuts that fit yet. shame on Audi.
The mark 1 TTs do have a spare. But I'm case of a flat the flat will not fit in the trunk of the Roadster. Mazda Miatas never came with spares. No space. Sorry, you should have known at time of purchase. Mark 1 ran 2000-2004/5. Best of luck.
My 2008 tt roadster 3.2 Quattro has a built in air compresser. It is behind the battery in the trunk. The carpeted trunk actually goes pretty far back in the roadster. Hope this helps.
At least you asked before buying. Reading here that there are some pretty silly people that had no clue.
I got a flat..Got the spare out and instructions say inflate to 50 pounds..Now how exactly am I supposed to inflate it in the middle of nowhere...Now I have TWO flats..Don't think the Audi engineers thought this one through.....
