how do i fix traction on 2007 cobalt

switch(where is it located) or the traction control module (where is it located)

Or it could be a front wheel bearing, or a wheel sensor, or a wiring problem near the wheel sensor, or a connection with moisture in it or it could be... In other words, do some diagnostics first before replacing anything. Scan it for codes. You may find clues there. Sometimes a professional opinion by a good shop is worth its weight in autoparts.
