Engine light has been on for 4 yrs & service TC control couple of times

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So diagnostic said to replace fuel pump and flow
air mass sensor ! Did ! Car drove great although
engine light stayed on ! This year tho service TC
control came on again car jerky ! Diagnostic said
replace this 31$ part ! They control gas flow said
damaged from a leak ! Don’t know what that would
have to do with TC ?

It may have nothing to do with traction control. The car could have multiple codes for multiple unrelated problems. Its 12 years old after all. Things wear out. Doesn't sound like your mechanic is very good at diagnostics. If he's simply looking at codes and replacing the related parts he's likely missing a lot, including the actual reason whey the check engine light is on. Find a shop or mechanic who knows or will find out what other factors could be causing the problems. Things like bad electrical connections damaged wires etc. Some shops specialize in auto electrical and are often more likely than a general repair shop to have the people and the equipment to get to the bottom of your problems

Agreed I switched mechanics after first time ! Let’s hope the problem is fixed now ! I just need to pass emissions lol
