2007 chevy equinox LT AWD overheats at idle, idle is dropping to below 1000 rpms, can put in neutral and get rpms up to 1500 or more and problem goes away, when it does overheat it also says to check engine oil, i have replaced thermostat and flushed radiator, and changed the oil. anyone have any ideas, thinking it is electrical short, or something like that, when on highway i have no problems.

I bet it is where the wires going to that harness from the fans, I bet there's a short there somewhere. That's what was wrong with my 2016 and the fans did work but I found a short in the wires.

possibly air lock. make sure when flushing radiator, you get air pocket out of there. air relief is on the block end of the radiator top hose.

Mine was doing the same thing tried everything then one day i pulled the top rubber hose off the resavore when car was running nothing came out so when i followed the rubber hose it connected to a metal line running to heater core well where it hooked up the metal part that went inside rubber hose was pluged cleaned it out aint had a problen since
