My AC has stopped working. What can I check before bringing it to a repair shop?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2007 Chevrolet Impala's AC was working until about two weeks ago. It appears to have
freon (pressure is ok) but I do not hear the clutch engage anymore. What fuses should I
check and where? What else could I replace before taking it to a repair shop? My $$ is
limited. Are there any detailed videos online someone may suggest for AC
troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair?

There are two pressure switches, one is on or near the accumulator, it looks like a silver tank, and the other is is usually on or near the compressor... One more thing to check is the AC fuse in the fuse box as well as the relay, usually found under the hood...
Thank you Fred I appreciate all your guidance. I have been undergoing some health issues and Its been years since I got my hands into a car. I've looked on YouTube and found how to replace a blower motor. Looked in both my Haynes manual and Chilton manual and neither addresses this problem directly. Just talking with someone for a minute on the topic gives me a focus on what I should do. Appreciate!

My compressor on my 2012 impala seems to be making a grinding noise once I set it on high speed, the wheel in the middle of the compressor seems to be getting stuck, I do you think is the problem, do I need a new compressor or can it be repaired.
