I am buying 4 new tires and I want to know the size and best tire I need for this car. I have been told the impala needs to have the tires rotated every time I have the oil changed (every 3000 miles) because for some reason this car wears on the tire. Is this true?

P225/60R16 R tires is stock for your Impala, and recommend you stick to that. If you are asking what brand of tire, that is a matter of opinion. Ask 10 people and you will get 10 answers. Personally I have always had very good performance with Goodyear Eagle. And rotation every 3000 miles? never heard of such a thing, but I have not heard everything either, so there may well be something I don't know about that subject. And even with conventional motor oil you can go 5000 miles. That 3000 miles figure is the product of oil-change joints, to get you in more often PS i got that tire size from Edmunds.com. To be sure, look on the sticker on drivers door jamb

But copied and pasted from that: "If the system is ever reset accidentally, the oil must be changed at 3,000 miles (5 000 km) since the last oil change. Remember to reset the oil life system whenever the oil is changed." So I stand corrected on oil-life, it IS 3000 miles. My mistake
usually tires are rotated every 6k - 7k miles.
