Bypassing heater core

Is it a good or bad idea to bypass the heater core
on my 07 Monte Carlo? If i do will it create other
problems?

You won't have heat or defrost in the winter obviously. No other problems.

Till then will i be alright driving as long as i keep coolant topped off

You apparently have other problems. If you have to keep topping off the coolant there is a leak.
