loss of power steering

I have had my pacifica since 07. All of a sudden when I drive through a puddle I lose
power steering

it is possible that the water is causing the belt to slip on the power steering pump pulley.

I know the belt is sliping .But why is it doing it now after 7years of driving the car. And how do I correct it.

I know the belt is sliping .But why is it doing it now after 7years of driving the car. And how do I correct it. I had the belt replaced a few years ago. But if I put a new belt on would that solve the problem
