I have 2007 ford explorer v6 Eddie Bauer just got tranny replaced now have a code of 705 referring to transmission range sensor is that the same as neutral safety switch ?

Yessir... where did you get the transmission from (essentially was it new or was it a donor?) also, did your mechanic change the exterior sensors?

Didn't take back to shop. Final price was way over eat. and not happy with shop as he didn't finish job. And I am sure HE didn't change any sensors .Hoping this an easy fix.

What's the transmission code, most of the time the range sensors are a breeze to change; there are a few that I would refer to as being a "fun filled journey" to deal with.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8DAnlHCffI The sensors are about 65-80 new and you're going to need a 10mm socket. it's is a tiny bit complicated (only because the tranny is still in the truck), but it WAAAAAAY easier than other jobs. Good luck!
