Won’t start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T FSI and it won’t
start. The battery is good. Everytime I open the door
the lights turn on so I’m pretty sure it’s not the
battery. It won’t even crank and it will just click once
then it won’t do anything else. I want to say the
engine is locked up but I was hoping that would not
be the case. Any thoughts?

First make sure that there's no oxidation (white salts ,, bad connection) on the + battery terminal ,, realize that just because the lights work it doesn't mean the battery is ok. You may have a bad starter or even a bad connection to the starter (I really think the trouble is at the battery)... turn on your headlights and see how quickly the headlights recover to full brightness after trying to crank.
