how much should be deducted if the car has had an accident with minor damage ? Is there a good percentage to deduct?

If the damage was cosmetic only, a good repair shop can even piece the fiberglass parts back in place or replace the fender/door/what ever was damaged. If the frame was damaged or suspension, and even if replaced, it may cause issues further down the road by constantly going out of alignment. It depends on what you call minor dings. If your buying the car, take it to a very reliable garage to have them do a thorough analysis on what was and could of been damaged and if it was repaired back to factory specs. If they give it a clean bill of health, ask for a 10 to 20% drop in price to open negotiations. If your selling it, and they are worried and you want to sell it, 5% and if they still balk, offer a 6 months fix on the repair if you feel it was done right.
