Convertible top & storage

Asked by Jim Jun 06, 2016 at 12:29 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Roadster RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is it ok? to park your car in a garage with the top
down for a long period of time like a year?   I have
a 2006 Crossfire roadster,  and I try to only take it
out on nice clear (dry) dsys, in-between I keep it in
my garage.  Just wanted to know if that could
present and problems with the top.

I suggest you store your vehicle with the convertible top up and latched, they tend to shrink overtime, along with the rear window being deformed / bent... additionally the car is protected more being somewhat sealed with the top closed, moisture, insects, mice whatever! If you have a fully climate controlled Storage facility or garage disregard this.
