1989 Ford Mustang Hatchback

Asked by Angela Oct 01, 2018 at 09:58 PM about the 1989 Ford Mustang LX Hatchback RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took the spoiler off my hatchback to clean it
because there were old leaves and pinstraw
coming out from under the spoiler everytime I
washed it. Well I had to take out some bolts
and my trunk hatch piece(#1).  As for the (#2)
I don’t know the name of that part I think it
opens the trunk when I press the button in
the glove box. Anyway that was dangling by
the wires so I took it off to try and fix it but I
can’t because there is wire inside the (#3)
pieces and I can’t pry them open. I don’t
know exactly what they are called (#3) or
where to buy them! (#3) Does anyone know
anything about this or where I can buy those
two small terminals or whatever they’re
called.

Thanks but I don’t want to buy a whole new hatchback trunk latch. I just want to buy 2 new terminal things to stick back into the white plug and crimp the wires inside
