find an wrecked 83 with one of the v8 engines and take the engine and tranny long as its still running youll be good. The swap is easy especially if you have the other car for parts.

The 3.8,and 5.0,,shared the same bell housing...Parts Needed:: 5.0 engine,carbureted,complete..:: 1 fox-body V-8 K member(or build your own frame-pads) a pair of 78-87 Fox-body V-8 motor mounts..bolt it in,and have fun!! I did this same swap,to an 83 T-Bird,and my ex-wife,and kids,are still driving it,after 5 years,with no issues..I did,eventually install the correct V-8 radiater,after 2 years of use..JJ has the right answer-It would be best to find a V-8 fox body,to use as a doner..
