1967 mustang fuel odor

Asked by baaine Dec 15, 2015 at 11:01 PM about the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 RWD

Question type: General

My 1967 GT500 Mustang has a pretty strong odor of gasoline. Is there
anything I can do about it?  I worry that it's dangerous to store in my garage
which is where I park it.

You are right, fumes would build up and all it would take is to turn on something an there she goes. Gonna have to sit up with her for the night and get her fix tomorrow.

check the filler neck or tube that is a common area that leaks, if it has the original rubber hose then its probably time to change it , every time you fuel up some gas will seep from the leak into trunk and now there may be gas soaked partition board.
