Good first project ?

I am looking for my first project. I have found a
1968 mustang base for $2000 but I am concerned
it may too large of a project for me. The Mustang
needs new floor supports, floor pans, and torque
boxes but the rest of the frame is solid. I would
most likely have to pretty much rebuild the engine
because it has not ran in 15 years though it was
well taken care of and stored properly.  The body
needs minimal work. There are no rust holes or
major dents it mostly just needs a good sanding to
remove spots of surface rust. The interior is rough
but usable so it's not an immediate concern of
mine.  I do have basic welding skills and a
reasonable amount of knowledge about cars not to
mention a few family members who have rebuilt
cars in the past that I can turn to if something is
too difficult.  If someone with more experience
than me could let me know if this sounds
reasonable for a first project or if I will be over my
head that would be great
